Bulb

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any advice about a good vector image creation tool. Currently I just work in Paint.NET mostly, and Corel Painter X for larger projects, but I don't like the vector support in Painter X, so I'm looking for a nice vector editor. A free one is always nice.

Any ideas? Anyone?

Anyway, here's a pair of monsters and their pet light globe. Or bulb. Imagine how much nicer that image could be if I made it as a vector image.
